Austin King is an attorney in Whitfield, Bryson & Mason’s Raleigh office. His practice focuses on representing individuals and entities in, among other things, complex federal and state litigation involving fraud and false advertising.
Austin graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, summa cum laude, where he finished first in his class before attending law school at the University of North Carolina. During his studies in law school, Austin was the executive editor of the school’s banking law review, the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. During his tenure at UNC, Austin served as a summer judicial clerk to the Honorable Terrence W. Boyle, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and Justice Paul M. Newby, North Carolina Supreme Court. Austin has also served under the Honorable R. Christopher Dillon, North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Following law school, Austin held a two-year federal clerkship with the Honorable Charles A. Pannell, Jr., U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Thereafter, Austin joined Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and, subsequently, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, two of the leading law firms in the world. Austin represented clients in federal class actions and multi-district litigation involving antitrust and intellectual property disputes.
Austin joined Whitfield, Bryson & Mason in April 2019.
