WBM lawyer Matthew Lee is in the news this week, as a North Carolina hotel continues to face construction problems.
Construction on a Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Charlotte sits partially built in light of a civil suit between the property owner, who bought the land in September 2012, and the former contractor. Construction began a few months after Atlas Property purchased the site.
Pro Construction was fired in December 2013, following the failure of 13 of 16 inspections a few months earlier, according to Lee, who represents the property owner. Atlas is suing over costs to remedy the violations.
“I don’t think you can look at this building and conclude anything other than there are major problems with it and it’s going to take a lot of money to fix it,” Lee told Time Warner Cable.
“The contractor didn’t do what they promised to do, by building the hotel pursuant to code and plans they were given,” he said.
