WBM is investigating claims that NVIDIA’s GTX 970 card possesses fewer ROPs and less memory than represented by NVIDIA in its marketing materials. Additionally, the 970, which was marketed as possessing 4GB of VRAM, actually possesses two “pools” of VRAM, one of which is 3.5GB and the other of which is .5GB. Multiple users have reported that the GTX 970 suffers from a host of performance issues when the second pool of VRAM is accessed, including “stuttering” and significant drops in frame rate.
